I prank-called another unnamed creative writing program to ask about lyric essay classes.

I’m getting better at this.  This time I did it live, and it took all of me not to break and laugh out loud.  I wrote out what I was going to say, then ad-libbed.  And then was put on hold and gave up.  I couldn’t go on.  Anyway, it’s all in good fun, so enjoy.

And if you are the indefatigable work study who answered the phone, bless you for your patience.

    Leer-ic. Amazing.

“Even though I sometimes use line breaks…they’re still essays.”

    Well done.

This guy should get a raise.

    “Accompanied by music.” Amazing.

This poor shlub… I’m one of the people who answers the phones at SLC, so please don’t do this to me.

“you might’ve heard of it from Ancient Greece, anyway–” Hilarious!

Accompanied by a Leer? Who are you, Sting?

Also, God bless this work study. This guy deserves an award of some sort.

I think it would be funnier if the guy you’re talking to realizes, somewhere, that this is a prank. How many people would realize this phone call is a prank? Probably one person: John D’Agata. And D’Agata sends everyone to school on everything.

Dare you to call John D’Agata.
