Lydia’s lunch. (Title stolen from Don Share.) (Also: Scroll down and tally up the total.  It says “includes service.”  Correct me if I’m wrong, but did the Financial Times reporter tip only, like, four bucks?)

I would like to call your attention to #bookstorebingo and ask you a question: Is it really a good idea for bookstore clerks and owners, especially indie ones that summon the more moral and communitarian angels of our nature to shop there, to Tweet snarkily about their less-than-sophisticated customers?  How did that work out for record stores?

Those crazy N+1ers keep naming the creatures. This time, Benjamin Kunkel breaks down the novel, quotes fellow N+1er Marco Roth. Kunkel stops just when he’s getting started.

Speaking of indie lit, this is classic: “Dear Missoni, BP, Brad Pitt, whoever: if you pay me $ to live for a while, I’ll write a book that has your entity’s object or glyphmark or whateverword in it.” BP is still an acronym for British Petroleum, yes?

There’s BP and then there’s BS, as in this SEO catnip post: “Five BS indicators for presenters at writer’s conferences.” via @glecharles

Read this old-ish interview with Lemon Hound and Jordan Davis, the best contemporary poetry critic out there.

Jesus Christ on a Cracker. Some people–Dogzplot and others–have already lined up a reading for next February’s AWP. And made a flyer to boot.

Two words: Dong Bang.

Robert Baird’s Coterie Math.  Brilliant.

Rachel Shukert compares Phil Collins’ work to Lieder.  You go, Fraulein. She’s guest-blogging over at the Best American Poetry blog this week.

Narrative is corrupt, Steve Fellner writes. Poor narrative.

Walt Benjamin–I call him Walt, like how poets who never met Philip Whalen still call him Phil Whalen–on memory.

I, too, am excited about the Gary Numan vinyl boxed set.

From Cover Lay Downthis cover of NWA is NSFW. But do listen to it.
