Obsession: Bookworm.

Host Michael Silverblatt
Maybe you already live near LA and know this. Maybe you listen to one of the 100 stations that syndicate it, but maybe you are like me and don’t.
I’m an avid podcast listener while feeding our baby. My latest obsession has been Michael Silverblatt’s excellent Bookworm show that comes via legendary LA station, KCRW.
I’m not only impressed with the guests he features, from heavyweights like Don Delillo and Joan Didion, to other curiosities like Mark Z. Danielweski, but with the depth of his questions. You get the sense that he not only reads the books in question, but puts an insanely large amount of thought into each show.
Recent interviews with Stone Arabia author Dana Spiotta and Dennis Cooper are solid.
Essentially, you can type in the name of any author of note in the last 25 years and Silverblatt has dissected them.
Many half-hours worth of fun. And educational for baby, too!

Don Swaim did a ton of great interviews in the 80s. I was obsessed with this site when I used to work at an insurance company and wanted to think of anything but Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
